Bangladesh Scientists Develop Technology to Detect Cancer within Five Minutes

DHAKA: (A research team of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) claimed they have developed a technology that can detect cancer by analyzing blood samples just within five minutes.
The SUST team also claimed the technology, first of its kind in the world, uses Nonlinear Optics to detect cancer quickly. It is also very cost effective.
The revelation was made in a press conference organized by Education Ministry and University Grant Commission (UGC) in city’s International Mother Language Institute on Wednesday (September 5).
At the press conference, SUST Physics Department professor and also chief researcher of the team Dr. Yasmeen Haque said using this technology cancer detection will cost only Tk 500. However, it will take a year to finalize the technology for usage. 
Under this method, no biomarker will be needed to detect cancer. So cost will be minimized to around Tk 500 from Tk 10,000. Besides, the regular biochemical process takes 7-8 days for detection but its will take only 7-8 hours, she added. 
It has been said that many lives can be saved through this quick cancer detection technology. Bangladesh and US jointly applied for patent the technology titled ‘Method and System Based Nonlinear Optical Characteristic of Body Fluid for Diagnosis on Neoplasia.’

Akira Miyawaki Forest blooming at Battis Shirala Battis Shirala, Sangli District, August 2- A doctor couple of Battis Shirala in Sangli district has developed a unique forest within just one year using a technique evolved by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. The physician, Dr  Nitin  Jadhav and his gynaecologist wife, Dr Krushna, of the Anand Hospital, have completed the first year of the project on July five last.
